Summer Fun 08/27/2010

I am the biggest slacker when it comes to blogging (and most everything else since I've been pregnant).  Here is a very condensed summary of the fun we've had this summer!

*Please note that the California locations are all a shameless plug of fun things to do if you come to visit us!
Hanging out with Olson cousins and Shelly the Turtle in Phoenix

Spending the day with our friends the McConkie's at Capistrano Beach. Sadly, I don't have a picture of all of us...

We spent the 4th of July with the Olson clan in St. George.  Lots of swimming, eating and playing with our cousins...Spencer was in heaven.

Even though Palm Springs is the hottest place ever in the summer, you can ride a tram and be in the cool mountain air. We loved hiking around, it felt like Utah to me. Now, if only we hadn't been trapped up there for hours while they tried to fix the tram, good times!

Andy's sister and her kiddos came out to visit, so we took them to Big Bear Mountain, which is another escape from the heat with a huge lake and lots of hiking. Next, we hit the beach, but this time went to Sunset Beach. We had a great time!

Andy's BFF Dustin got married in Michigan this month, so off we went. It was a very fun/fancy wedding, not especially great for a toddler, but we survived. Our table at the dinner was filled with Dustin's nieces, nephews and Spencer; we were the only kids table, sweet!  Our kiddo hit the dance floor hard during the reception, so he was a little pooped to say the least. After the festivities we went to visit our old church ward and friends from Ann Arbor.  It was so fun to see them, but sadly we weren't able to see everyone we wanted, there just wasn't enough time, so I'm sorry if we missed you!

This week Andy and his friend Bill had a one-day training in San Diego, so we headed down there with both families to spend the day at the beach. While the boys spent all day in a non-air conditioned building, we drove onto Coronado Island and spent the day at the Navy Base's private beach...it was beautiful! I have never seen such amazing sand and scenery. The building in the pic below is the Hotel del Coronado (ignore the random people). This is also one of the few belly pics I will be posting, so I'm hoping that the scenery will distract you from my size :).  Spencer loved the beach, but he was into the sand so much that the kiddo was waddling from chaffing the last two hours...all in the name of fun!
Phew! I'm finally caught up, sorry for the gargantuan post for those that made it to the end :).

We are sad we didn't get to see you when you were in Michigan! Congratulations on #2, do the pink feet mean you are expecting a girl?
